Twining's Vanilla Black Tea

We are taking a break from decorating the parlor for the holidays with Twining's Vanilla Black Tea and homemade Christmas cookies.

The tea is strong, with enough vanilla flavor to give it almost a malty feel that contrasts with the sharp tannin of the blended black tea. It is a nice companion to holiday baked goods and an easi introduction to flavored teas for the novice.

Now, to put our feet up and enjoy the twinkling lights.

British Tea Company

The parlor was given British Tea Company Premium Gold tea. It was a very mild and smooth blend, and we particularly enjoyed that it had labels and directions in Polish.

Typhoo

In England, they call it a builder's tea: strong, good with milk and sugar, enjoyed by hard workers on their tea break. Typhoo fits the bill. It's a mild blend, perfect for breakfast or an afternoon pick-me-up. Today, we are serving Typhoo with a mushroom and cheese omelet, turkey bacon, and a crumpet with lingonberry preserves.

Numi Organic Breakfast Blend

We've been enjoying Numi Organic English Breakfast in the parlor these past two weeks. Rich and mellow, it's the perfect tea to start the day. This week we're serving it with raisin challah french toast and turkey bacon.

Choice Organic Celtic Tea

Sometimes midweek needs a special treat. This morning, our treat was a cinnamon crunch scone from Panera and Choice Organic Celtic Tea. We love all good tea, whether loose leaf or bagged, and this tea , like the other Choice bagged teas we've tried, is delicious. A malty mix of Assam and Ceylon, it's smooth and strong. Perfect.
